A full week

Nov 5, 10:35 PM

It has been a full week since my last post so this post may be a touch long.

Last Friday we watched Zack and Miri make a Porno in theaters. It was pretty good, not amazing but still enjoyable. Afterwards Chris wanted to get some drinks so we walked over to Jackastors only to find it was REALLY loud because it was Halloween, so we decided to try a different bar. We walked towards milestones but it was closed so we tried Moxies, Moxies was open but it was also damn loud so we just went back to my house. We sat around and talked for a while. The conversations were pretty average, I don’t recall anything too crazy coming up.

Saturday was also a pretty average day. I did some web development during the day, then at night Ryan came by and we watched the new Futurama movie. Ryan was less than impressed but I felt this one was much better than their last movie. Once we finished the movie Kevin, Chris, Redford, Andrew, and Simon came by after doing some drinking. We sat around in my room and talked and played puzzle fighters. Kevin was horrible at this game, Ryan beat him, Redford beat him, I beat him, it was pathetic. The worst part was he kept begging people to play him at this game, he just didn’t know when to give up.

Sunday was a pretty quiet day. I did some more dev, but in the afternoon Ryan and andrew came by and we watched A clockworks orange. This movie was totally messed up. I am damn glad I bought it. The movie is very bizarre and at times pretty fucked up, but still wicked!

Now yesterday was a pretty damn intense day. My brother was going to a bar downtown to watch the election unfold so I decided to join him. The first stop was to meet him at his friend Tyler’s office. My brothers friend works like right at Queen and Spadina in this wicked office. His office has a patio that has a phenomenal view of the city. I was pissed I didn’t have my camera (I can’t take photos in IBM so I don’t bother taking it to work anymore). So we chilled at Tylers office for a bit then headed over to Gretzky’s because there was suppose to be a crowd of Obama supporters there.

So we got there and it was pretty packed, we stood around for a little bit then cabbed over to the Gladstone. Gladstone was a little less packed but seemed to have a better crowd. People were more into it. So we were at the Gladstone for a good 4 hours. The entire night consisted of screaming and booing. It was such a nice feeling when one of the dudes from CNN basically proved that it was impossible for McCain to win.

Once the last poll closed people at the gladstone went nuts, NUTS! It was just solid screaming and chanting. After McCain gave his concession speech we headed over to Dundas square for Obama victory party. Sadly even though Dundas square has like 6 tv screens not a single one was playing the election coverage. So we started looking frantically for a tv, we first checked hard rock cafe but they were playing hockey, then milestones, they were playing hockey and the election but no sound, then we checked jackastors and they were also playing hockey.

My brother and cousin were quite pissed at this point. We decided to try one more bar and if that failed then we were just going to head to Mahi’s place and stream it off his laptop. So we went to a bar north on yonge called Elephant and Castle and we finally found a bar playing the election. Obama’s victory speech was excellent, I am already in the process of putting it on my iPhone. As soon as he finished his speech I got up and went home.

After a long trek I made it back at around 2:00 A.M. and slept for about 5 hours then went to work.

Hopefully now that America has Obama the country won’t be so fucked up. I am very excited to see what will happen in the next 4 years.

What the hell? Are you serious? It’s only AN HISTORICAL MOMENT! Why couldn’t they stop playing whatever the fuck they were playing for the Obama speech?
