Driving

Nov 10, 01:36 AM

This weekend was pretty quiet. Friday we went to Taco Bell for dinner then everyone, except me, went to Ryan’s to play Resistance 2. I headed home to meet up with Amy and Ian who were sitting around in my room waiting for my return.

When I got back we talked and played some rock band 2 for a while. Simon showed up and played a few songs then they all left at around 10 or 11. People were playing poker at Jimmy’s but I wasn’t in the mood to play so I just stayed home and started two new anime series, Toradora and Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka. Both are simple high school romances, nothing too crazy about them but at the same time they are enjoyable enough to watch.

I only realized recently that I haven’t actually been watching any anime, I have just been reading manga. Something felt a little off about that so I quickly picked up those two random series.

Saturday nothing really happened. Ravi’s son Arush turned one so I went to his birthday party. They hired a clown which was pretty interesting, but other than that nothing too crazy happened.

Today was also a pretty quiet day. My brothers friend Carvill came by for lunch. After eating and talking the three of us headed to Vaughn mills and did some window shopping. I saw some nice dress shirts but they weren’t dirt cheap enough.

After window shopping we headed downtown to get some dinner then headed home. When I got back I called up Ryan to see if the guys were doing anything. Jimmy and Adrian were at Ryan’s watching full metal jacket and were most likely going to watch a second movie afterwards. So during the ride home with Carvill from downtown we talked about driving and other crap and I felt like I should try driving to Ryan’s house. So I mustered up some courage and asked my dad if I could drive to Ryan’s. Much to my surprise he actually gave me the keys. Mind you a part of me thinks that if my dad doesn’t let me drive on my own I will never ever want to drive, which is true. Anyways I could see the doubt in his mind but he threw caution to the wind and let me go.

So I drove to Ryan’s and I think I did okay. Mind you it was like 10 o’clock on a sunday so there wasn’t really anyone on the road. Anyways we watched fast and the furious at Ryan’s and then I drove jimmy home and have made it back to my house without totally destroying the car or killing anyone. All in all it has been a good day.

Driving is still a little weird though, I don’t feel totally comfortable yet driving around but at the same time I feel much better about driving. And for all you drunks reading my blog NO you do not have a designated driver yet.
